Hello, my name is Penny and I love making candles and I love gorgeous fragrances.
It’s a marriage made in heaven.
Taking a mundane product like wax, mixing it with a fragrance oil, wicking it and awaiting the result is a special kind of magic.
My candles are all hand poured in small batches in the confines of my kitchen. As a result, my house always smells joyously perfumed.
I really hope you will enjoy the results as much as I do.
In order to ensure that you get the very best out of your candle, follow these simple rules:
This is really important: on the first burn, always burn for 3 – 4 hours to ensure an even melt pool.
Wax has a kind of “memory” and if you want your candle to burn effectively without tunnelling, then the first burn needs to be long enough for the wax melt pool to spread to the edge or close to the edge of the container
Place your candle in a draught free environment and on a heat proof surface
Never leave your candle unattended
If the candle starts smoking, extinguish it and trim the wick
Ensure the wick is upright, above the wax and central before the wax sets
Always trim the wick to 5mm before lighting to avoid smoking
Extinguish when 5mm of wax remains and do not relight
For safety sake, burn your candle for not more than 4 hours at a time
